ITU-D organizes a
Global Symposium for Regulators
(GSR) that takes place approximately annually. Since its launch in 2000,
the GSRs have provided a unique venue for regulators and policy-makers
from both developed and developing countries to meet and exchange views
and experiences. The meetings foster an open dialogue between regulators
and key ICT stakeholders: the private sector, investors and consumers.

�GSR10 examined the challenges for regulators to stimulate nationwide
broadband deployment through adaptive and targeted regulations and
out-of-the-box tools. GSR10 also focused on the need to keep up with the
pace of convergence and integration of ubiquitous networks, in
particular through adapting institutional structure and mandates,
adopting cutting-edge best practices and embracing new tools such as
innovative dispute resolution techniques.�
