Natural disasters place a significant
burden on most economies. Network damage caused by natural disasters may
be mitigated if networks are designed and deployed to be resilient.
This programme will assist Member States
in designing and deploying resilient network infrastructure, by
producing guidelines/handbooks on the standardization of
telecommunication outside plant in areas frequently exposed to natural
disasters.
The guidelines/handbooks will address
planning, including selection of appropriate geographical sites; design;
deployment; and operation and maintenance of the outside plant of
telecommunication networks.
