The World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-17) convened in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 9 to 20 October 2017 following the kind invitation of the Government of Argentina and the approval by the Council with the concurrence of a majority of the Member States of ITU. WTDC-17 represented a unique opportunity for the international community to gather together and discuss the future of the telecommunication and information and communication technologies sector and its contribution to social and economic development. more
The ITU Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) marks its 25th Anniversary this year. ITU-D was established in 1992 by the Additional Plenipotentiary Conference that was held in Geneva.
