Dominican Republic: Building an Inclusive and Accessible Digital Future

This session will feature the Diplomatic Mission showcasing the Smart and Sustainable Cities initiative (U4SSC) and referencing the recent official visit of the ITU-T to the Dominican Republic. The Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC) will present the Gobverse (Metaverse) as a case study in public innovation, alongside the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (ENIA). Additionally, the Dominican Republic Chapter of the Internet Society and the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC) will discuss the Universal Indicators, with a focus on evaluating human rights, privacy, and fostering an inclusive future. With the support of the ITU and academic collaboration, this session aims to establish a strong foundation for digital innovation, underpinned by standards and best practices.
