The UN Climate Change Conference COP 27 seeks to accelerate global climate action through emissions reduction, scaled-up adaptation efforts and enhanced flows of appropriate finance. It recognizes that 'just transition' remains a priority for developing countries worldwide.
Digital transformation can play a significant role in supporting efforts to tackle climate change and accelerate climate adaptation and mitigation actions.
ITU, being the UN specialized agency for information and communication technologies, is contributing to the UN system-wide coordination, or “delivering as one”, on addressing climate change by using digital technologies and is taking the necessary steps to deepen the global understanding on the relation between ICTs, digital technologies and climate change.
