The Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) works to close the digital divide and drive digital transformation to leverage the power of ICTs for socio-economic development, job creation, digital skills development, gender equality, diversity, a sustainable and circular economy, and for saving lives.

The ITU Regional Initiatives (RIs) 2023-2025 were adopted at the ITU's World Telecommunications Development Conferences in 2022 (WTDC-22) to address specific telecommunication/information and communication technology (ICT) priority areas to meet the regions' development needs.
