ITU's Regional Presence is designed to enable the Union to work as closely as possible with its Membership and to adapt the activities of the three
ITU Sectors (Radio, Standards and Development) to the different needs of the world's developing countries and regions. The
ITU provides assistance and support in the Americas region through a Regional Office based in Brasilia, hosted by the government of Brazil and other three Area Offices located in Bridgetown (Barbados), Santiago (Chile) and Tegucigalpa (Honduras).
The work of the
ITU Field Offices in the Americas aims at ensuring that all members benefit from the work of the three Sectors of the Union, addressing the specific needs of the region and of each country.
