Summary:
|
This Supplement supports information and communication technology (ICTs) organizations in setting science-based targets for greenhouse gases (GHGs) according to the decarbonisation pathways, described in detail in Recommendation ITU-T L.1470 'GHG emissions trajectories for the ICT sector compatible with the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) Paris Agreement', aligned to the IPCC Special Report on 1.5°C and is intended to be provided to Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) to be used as a sectoral target-setting approach. This Supplement focuses exclusively on ICT manufacturers. Guidance for additional sub-sectors, including such as semi-conductor manufacturers and PCB manufacturers, will be covered in future work.
Note: The term ICT manufacturers refers to organisations which have the financial and organisational control of the design and production of ICT goods, also including software providers.
