Terms of Reference
The DCICC will seek to develop a coordinated effort internationally to
address the impact of the Internet on climate change and thereby avoid
duplication of resources and efforts, including the following:
- share information on future plans and initiatives of each member, as well
as best practices concerning the Internet and climate change
- promote the importance of the issue of climate change in discussions taking
place at the IGF and related meetings on Internet Governance and develop joint
statements, if feasible.
- consider key issues concerning the relationship between the Internet and
climate change, indicating the Internet’s impact on climate change and drawing
attention to its potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
- identify potential areas for collaboration among the members
- identify areas and gaps where further analysis is required
- identify possibilities for partnerships and projects that could be
leveraged
- liaise with organizations in the United Nations system working on this
topic
