ARB1: Sustainable digital economy through digital transformation

A national strategy for digital health in Jordan was developed, in collaboration with the country’s Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and the World Health Organization.

In partnership with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, a Regional E-agriculture Solutions Forum was held in Jordan to showcase important innovations in digital agriculture as well as raise awareness on digital agriculture national strategies: Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, the State of Palestine, Syria, Tunisia and Yemen attended the Forum.

Assistance on GovStack has been provided to Djibouti, Egypt and Somalia.

The 3rd edition of the Accessible Arab Region – ICT for ALL organized in collaboration with the UN ESCWA and hosted by the Digital development Agency of Morocco. Over the first two days, the event provided a regional platform to raise awareness, strengthen knowledge, and share challenges and good practices to achieve inclusive digital transformation in the Arab Region. The third day was dedicated to strengthening regional capacity in ICT accessibility through an interactive training session.

The self-paced training course entitled “Beyond smart cities equals “Smart for all” was translated into Arabic.

As part of Connect2Recover, work was undertaken in Mauritania to enhance the resilience assessment of ICT infrastructure; in the State of Palestine to formulate a national numbering planning framework and regulations; and in Syria to develop a comprehensive ICT market review and analysis report.

Assistance was provided to the State of Palestine, Iraq and Somalia to develop National Emergency Telecommunications Plans.
