Masterclass #1: Applying the power of digital technology for climate action

How can digital and geospatial technologies drive solutions for climate action – and how can young people become involved in digital projects to counter the impact of climate change?

This masterclass explored the importance of digital, geospatial and sensing technologies in improving understanding of the climate system, helping to build resilience and filling data gaps to monitor the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. It presented use cases demonstrating just how digital technologies can provide insights and effective solutions for climate action – and offers ideas for young people around the world to get involved in citizen science projects and open access digital technology projects to directly address climate and development challenges.
