Masterclass #2: Under attack: how to deal with a cyberthreat

Knowing how to protect yourself in cyberspace is critical to online safety – and more important than ever as we increasingly move our daily lives onto the internet.

Convenience, information, entertainment: the benefits of being online are huge. But accelerated digitalization brings increased exposure to new and evolving risks in cyberspace. We all need to become more aware of cybersecurity and learn the relevant skills to stay safe online. This Masterclass highlighted the significance of cybersecurity for young people, teaching them how to protect themselves in cyberspace through learning by doing. Young participants took part in a scenario-based exercise, experiencing a fictitious cyber-attack from an adversary based on real-life situations, and learning appropriate counter-measures to protect themselves online.
