​​​​​​​​Sonali received her Ph.D. from the Electrical Engineering Department at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD), India. During her Ph.D., she was honored with the Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Fellowship from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Prior to that, she earned her M.E. degree in Wireless Communication from Thapar University, Patiala, in 2016, where she received the GATE Scholarship and a Gold Medal for academic performance. She was awarded COMSNETS fellowship from July – September, and October – December quarter of 2021. Her Ph.D. thesis garnered acclaim, earning her the esteemed Best Thesis Award from the Centre of Optics and Photonics at IITD. She also received the Distinction in Doctoral degree award from the institute. Currently, Sonali serves as a Senior Manager in the Standards and Research Group at HFCL Limited, where she spearheads the company's initiatives in 6G research within the 5G business unit. She represents HFCL in various standardization activities such as 3GPP RAN1, ITU-R WP5D, ITU-T SG15, and TSDSI, showcasing her expertise and leadership in the field. Recently, one of her use cases submitted to the ITU AI for Good call has been selected among the top submissions. This same use case was also been nominated for the SAIL Award at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference. She has research interests in 6G Phy layer, wireless communication systems, signal processing, and optical communication systems and networks. Her publications include 2 patent, 1 copyright, 5 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, 1 book chapter, and 14 articles in proceedings of international conferences​​
