Kumar Satyam is the CEO of CEQU Labs, a pioneering organization dedicated to transforming rural communities through last-mile digital connectivity. With nearly a decade of experience in the industry and an education in Computer Science, Kumar is on a mission to develop technologies and innovative procedures that have a long-lasting impact on unconnected communities worldwide.
At CEQU Labs, Kumar has been spearheading efforts to develop sustainable model villages in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The solution focuses on six key areas: Network, Surveillance, eHealth, eEducation, eGovernance, and Open Commerce. Kumar has also successfully collaborated with governments and institutions to implement sustainable and impactful digital initiatives.
Under his leadership, CEQU Labs has been at the forefront of leveraging AI for Good and advanced technologies to make rural communities viable and self-sufficient. This includes the development and implementation of the DigiGram initiative, which aims to create sustainable model villages through a comprehensive digital framework. DigiGram integrates social media, including WhatsApp, with the GPT AI System to enhance community engagement, eHealth consultation, and grievance redressal in vernacular languages.
His work in Dhorra village, Lalitpur, exemplifies the impact of these initiatives, where he has collaborated with district authorities to demonstrate the practical applications of technology in education, governance, and community development. Notably, the DigiGram solution was recognized by ITU as a finalist in the prestigious ITU SDG Digital Awards 2023, highlighting the initiative's impact and potential. Additionally, he has been recognized with the NBT Award for his outstanding contributions to rural digitization.
