Smriti Parsheera is a lawyer and policy researcher with the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy in New Delhi, where she leads the work on telecom and technology policy. Her research areas include privacy and data protection, net neutrality, competition policy, consumer protection and regulatory governance. Smriti has previously worked with the United Nations Development Programme and the Competition Commission of India. Before moving to the field of public policy, she worked with the M&A practice group of a commercial law firm in Delhi.
Smriti graduated from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. She completed her Master of Laws from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law along with a Certificate Course in Law and Business from the Wharton School. Smriti is currently pursuing a PhD in policy studies from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
