Takuro Sato

Takuro Sato was born in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, on January 16, 1950. He received the B.E. and Ph.D. degrees in electronicsTakuro Sato.jpg
 engineering from Niigata University, Niigata, Japan, in 1973 and 1994, respectively. He was with Research and Development Laboratories, Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, where he worked on PCM transmission system and mobile telephone system and contributed standardization activities of mobile data transmission for CCITT SG17 from 1983 to 1997, W-CDMA system for TIA/T1 from 1990 to 1995 and 3GPP in 1995-1996. He was a Professor in the Department of Information and Electronics Engineering, Niigata Institute of Technology in 1995. He stated a business of venture companies providing WiFi LSI named key stream in 2000 and wireless system design named WiVi com. in 2001 as industry-academia collaboration activities. He is currently a Professor of Graduated School of Global Information Telecommunication and Studies in Waseda University in 2004. His current research is next generation mobile communication system, smart grid/energy and social information infrastructure network. He is fellow member of IEEE.
