Introduction The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in partnership with the Arab Information and Communication Technology Organization (AICTO), the African Telecommunication Union (ATU) and the National Digital Certification Agency Tunisia (ANCE), organized the Second Arab-African Interregional Standardization Forum on PKI for e-trust from 4-5 April 2019, in Tunis, Tunisia.
ObjectivesThe forum was organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Communication Technologies and Digital Economy and aimed to be an open platform for debating and exchanging views on a number of standardization topics under discussion at ITU-T and to highlight activities related PKI for e-trust.
In addition, the forum focused on:
- Opening a high level interregional dialogue about e-trust services and the key role of national e-certification authorities in building trustworthy digital societies;
- Paving the way towards the interoperability and mutual recognition of e-trust services;
- Boosting the interregional cooperation in the field of e-trust to coordinate efforts and come up with technical solutions and regulatory approaches to combat the growth of fraud and cyber threats.
The discussions was held in English and Arabic.
Target Audience
The target audience of the event included ITU Member States, national standards bodies, ICT regulators, ICT companies, ICT research organizations, service providers, and academia.
