Dr. Haruo Okamura covers High-speed Optical Submarine System technologies and Innovative Low-Cost Robust Optical Cables. He was a Vice-Chairman for ITU-TSGI5 (Optical Transport) in 2001-2004 and a Vice-Chairman of ITU-T TSAG during 2005-2012. He was the Convenor of IECTC86 Optical Amplifiers during 1998-2006. He is currently a guest researcher of Japanese National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technol. and an adviser of ITU association of Japan and Corning Inc.(USA). He holds a Ph.D and a MBA degree.
