Introduction The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) organized a forum on “
Energy Efficiency and Future Network Infrastructure" on 22 October 2014 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
This forum was kindly hosted by Huawei and was held during the
Broadband World Forum which took place from 21 to 23 October 2014.
Objectives This Forum provided a platform for business representatives to share views on challenges and opportunities related to environmental impact, the energy efficiency in the deployment of Green Data Centers and network infrastructure. Due to ever increasing data demand, data centers will soon become a key part of the digital economy and will require a systemic approach to planning and deployment.
Target audience This forum brought together leading specialists in the field from engineers, designers, policy-makers, standards experts and others to raise awareness on the role of ICT to build a sustainable future.
