Marga Blom is Director Energy Management of Royal KPN and responsible for all aspects on Energy, including sourcing, innovation, and sustainability for the whole KPN group.
Marga started her career in the oil industry with the IT department of Shell. Since 1987 she is working with KPN in a number of management functions in ICT and Finance and Procurement.
Given the increase of both cost and use of energy Marga founded the Energy Management Group (EMG) in 2007 in order to bundle knowledge regarding all Energy aspects. In the last years the focus on energy management changed from energy efficiency in our own processes to energy energy efficiency in the whole chain. Especially how ICT can both improve climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Energy-efficiency became in 2008 one of the spearheads of the CSR policy of KPN with Marga Blom as director. In 2011 KPN started collaborating with the World Wildlife Fund and joined the Climate Savers Program to lessen the impact on the climate.”
