Examination procedures under RR Article 11

After a frequency assignment notice is published in Part 1 of the BR International Frequency Information Circular (BR IFIC) the subsequent processing of the notice for terrestrial services in the BR varies according to the frequency band and service concerned and may include the following types:

Regulatory examination;
Examination with respect to conformity with coordination procedures;
Examination with respect to conformity with a world or regional plan;
Technical examination (e.g. probability of harmful interference).

Flowcharts on examination procedures under RR Article 11

The procedures relating to examination under RR Article 11 of notices for frequency assignments are presented in the form of simplified flowcharts. They include the following cases:

Terrestrial stations (non-shared, non-planned bands);
Terrestrial stations operating in the bands above 100 MHz shared with Space services (shared bands);
Transmitting or receiving coast radiotelephone stations in the exclusive Maritime mobile bands between 4 000 and 27 500 kHz (RR Appendix 25);
Aeronautical stations in the exclusive aeronautical mobile (OR) bands between 3 025 and 18 030 kHz (RR Appendix 26);
Aeronautical stations in the exclusive aeronautical mobile (R) bands between 2 850 and 22 000 kHz (RR Appendix 27);
Maritime radionavigation service stations in the European Maritime Area in the frequency band 283.5 - 315 kHz, submitted by parties to the Agreement (GE85-EMA);
Aeronautical radionavigation stations in the European Maritime Area in the band 283.5-315 kHz, submitted by parties to the Agreement (GE85-EMA);
Maritime mobile and aeronautical radionavigation stations in frequency bands 415 - 435, 435 - 495, 505 - 526.5, 1 606.5 - 1 625, 1 635 - 1 800, 2 045 - 2 160 kHz, submitted by parties to the Agreement (GE85-MM-R1);
Fixed and land mobile stations in frequency bands 1 606.5 - 1 625 kHz, 1 635 - 1 800 kHz, submitted by parties to the Agreement (GE85-MM-R1).
