Seminar on Radio Astronomy - Almaty, Kazakhstan, 16 September 2024

This seminar, kindly hosted by The International University of Information Technology (Almaty, Kazakhstan), will provide a brief overview of Radio Astronomy science and technologies, covering diverse topics such as:

History of Radio Astronomy;
Technologies in radio astronomy: antennas, radio receivers, digital signal processing, software and algorithms, arrays… Including specialist and emerging new technologies and instruments;
Scientific discoveries and how radio astronomy has contributed and shaped our view of the universe. Including some specialist topics such as astrochemistry, pulsars, radio transients, active galactic nuclei (AGN).
Need and mechanisms of protection of radio astronomy. Radio spectrum management, the role of the ITU and the international community.
