The “Spotlight Series on Human-Centric Digital Transformation” is rolled out by the ITU Office for Europe in collaboration with the Republic of Poland and the Czech Republic, in cooperation with all Countries of the Europe Region. This initiative consists of a series of spotlight workshops that will seek to deepen the understanding of 'human-by-design' digital features. The second Spotlight workshop was held virtually on October 30th from 11:00 to 13:00 CEST (UTC+2).
This initiative builds on the ITU Regional Development Forum for Europe (RDF-EUR) submission titled A human-centric approach to digital transformation, and is held in line with ITU Regional Initiatives for Europe 2 on "Digital Transformation for Resilience," as well as Initiatives 3 on "Digital Skills and Inclusion" and 4 on "Trust and Security in the use of ICTs," this series seeks to deepen the understanding of 'human-by-design' digital features through a series of spotlight workshops.
The workshops aimed to showcase concrete examples of human-centric digital transformation projects in Europe, that may include ensuring accessibility, inclusiveness, protecting privacy and fostering a sense of community and collaboration. It specifically featured projects in the field of government services, education, and health, pinpointing challenges, opportunities, and emerging trends. Insights and recommendations on good practices shared during the workshops was collated in a Compendium, aimed to inform future digital development strategies both within Europe and globally.
The workshop also provided a platform for interested stakeholders of Europe and beyond to exchange with technical experts on the human centric nature of their case study, technology used, regulatory environment, measures implemented, and actors involved, in view of exchanging good practices.
