The visit of the ITU Secretary-General, Mr. Houlin Zhao to Moscow, Russian Federation, was organized at the invitation of H.E.Mr. Nikolai Nikiforov, Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation.
Within the framework of the visit, several meetings took place. At the meeting with Mr. Nikolai Nikiforov, Mr. Zhao, among other topics discussed, expressed appreication of the contrituion of the Russian Federation to the activities of International Telecommunication Union. Also, the modalities of further cooperation between the Russian Federation and the ITU were discussed.
Also, the ITU Secretary-General had a meeting with H.E. Mr. Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.
Also, Mr. Zhao visited the Radio Research and Development Institute (NIIR) and met with Mr. Valery Butenko, the NIIR Director General, to appreciate the active participation of the NIIR in the ITU activities.
