The 9th edition of Accessible Americas: ICT’s for ALL was carried out in Brasilia, Brazil, from 16 to 18 November 2022. The event was organized by the International Telecommunication Union in partnership with the National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL), the Brazilian regulatory authority.
Accessible Americas is the flagship regional event on ICT accessibility that brings together all involved stakeholders and therefore provides a unique networking opportunity for the development of strategic cooperation and collaboration in the field of digital accessibility and inclusion in our region. Therefore, Accessible Americas leverages regional capacity on the topic of ICT accessibility, promote the tools, resources and solutions to foster national and regional implementation, and enables interactive discussion to share good practices, challenges and solutions.
The event also aims at strengthening regional collaboration, incentivizing the formulation of national policies and strategies toward achieving digital inclusion of everyone, including persons with disabilities, or persons in vulnerable situations. Finally, the participants are able to identify actions and initiatives to create equal and equitable opportunities to enable everyone’s participation in the digital economy and society.
Accessible Americas is a multistakeholder initiative counts with the active participation of representatives from public and private sector, academia, international and regional organizations and civil society.
