Every year, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in collaboration with different partners come together to celebrate the annual
International Girls in ICT Day. The event, which takes place on the fourth Thursday of April, aims to inspire, and encourage girls to pursue careers in science, engineering, technology, mathematics and engage effectively in the digital sector.
To celebrate Girls in ICT in Africa, six distinct events were held:

Girls in ICT Day - Ethiopia
This year, the National Girls in ICT Day celebrations took place under the theme
“Leadership"
on Thursday,
25 April 2024 at the Nativity Girls' School located in Piassa. The national celebrations brought together mentors, girls, young women, and youth to exchange their experiences and share knowledge around the challenges and opportunities to pursue leadership roles and actively engage in the digital sector and beyond.
