Girls in ICT Day @ITU HQ, 28 April 2016, Geneva, Switzerland
The Geneva celebration of Girls in ICT Day was held on 28 April 2016 at ITU
Headquarters in the heart of Geneva.
In collaboration with Expanding Your Horizons (a
nonprofit organization dedicated to providing STEM experiences to
middle and high school girls interested in STEM activities and careers),
schools from Geneva have been actively involved in organizing their own
hands-on workshops for inspiring local school girls to become ICT creators
with the support of experts from ITU, UNOSAT, Futurekids and Techspark
Academy.
The girls participating in the school
workshops were invited to the ITU HQ for a half day celebration where they
had the opportunity to present their work and what they learned during the
workshops to the
ITU officials, the diplomatic community, ITU Staff and ITU Delegates
.
