Submarine cables carry over 99% of the world’s data traffic. They enable the digital economy and connect billions of people worldwide.

The International Submarine Cable Resilience Summit aims to foster global collaboration, secure innovative solutions, and engage leaders from government, industry and international organizations to strengthen this vital global digital infrastructure.

With incidences of cable damage on the rise, the summit is key platform to address critical issues and ensure the reliability, sustainability and future-readiness of the world’s 1.4 million-kilometre subsea cable network.

Alongside the first face-to-face meeting of the new International Advisory Body on Submarine Cable Resilience, the summit will feature high-level panels, interactive workshops and discussions designed to drive actionable strategies and improve the resilience of global connectivity infrastructure.

Networking opportunities: Direct engagement with leaders and stakeholders from Africa and around the world.
Opening session: Featuring remarks by ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin, H.E. Minister Bosun Tijani (Nigeria), and Prof. Sandra Maximiano, Chair of the National Communications Authority – ANACOM  (Portugal).
Panel discussions: Expert-led sessions on submarine cable resilience, regulatory frameworks, technological innovation and crisis management.
Summit declaration: A collective call to action to ensure digital resilience.
