Summary: RTPS, which refers to roadside traffic perception system, is a system composed of Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructures, including sensing devices, cloud facilities, intelligent traffic lights and smart traffic signs. By utilizing IoT technologies, roadside traffic perception system (RTPS) can enhance traffic safety and efficiency with capabilities of its components. To enhance traffic safety and efficiency, IoT infrastructures in RTPS need to collaborate with each other using IoT technologies. Therefore, common and specific requirements and capabilities for IoT infrastructures are described in this recommendation. Use cases of RTPS are also given in the appendix.
