Summary:
|
This Recommendation focuses on identifying and designating digital technologies that are resilient and sustainable for deployment to enable adaptation to effects of climate change. ICTs can play a crucial role in supporting communities and systems to adapt to the effects of climate change. The ICTs themselves also need to be resilient and sustainable in function and deployment to enable wide range use and adaptation to the effects of Climate Change. The effects of climate change often disproportionally impact vulnerable communities and hence a choice of appropriate digital technologies will be crucial for references.
The effects of climate change make the affected areas to often lack the social and economic resources to enhance climate resiliency. This leads to a series of challenges that are barring communities from taking advantage of digital technologies in adapting to the effects of climate change. The Recommendation details different technologies applied to achieve resilience to the effects of negative climate change. The Recommendation opens up for adoption of resilient and adaptation considerations in the onset of system deployments and projects to ensure they mainstream at design, production and operation levels.
