Part I: Strengthening Collaboration between ITU and Academia – Interactive panel
Objectives:
This session will be a panel discussion led by facilitators from the three ITU Sectors (Standardization, Radiocommunication, and Development) and designed to discover areas for collaboration. An overview presentation will be followed by an interactive discussion with the audience. Representatives from the three sectors will highlight opportunities for initiatives from their fields of expertise. An existing academia member will provide a case study showing how ITU membership has benefited their institution.

Note: ITU staff will be available throughout Kaleidoscope for one-on-one
meetings with delegates to explain opportunities for academia to get
involved in ITU activities and answer questions. For more information,

Part II: ITU Standards and academia - Breakout session
Objectives: This session is designed to highlight the importance of
standards and encourage the participation of academia in ITU’s
standardization work. Each group, led by a facilitator, discusses one of
the following topics.
Topics and facilitators:
- The importance of standards and standards education – When is the
right time for standards? What is the impact of standards?
Next-generation standards makers – (why, when and how) should standards
be taught in universities? How can standards development organizations
assist in furthering standards education and increase awareness of the
value of standards?
