Girls in ICT Day 2015" was also celebrated in Greenwood Public School, Gurgaon for the first time on April 23, 2015. The event was organized by Oracle Academy from 9 :00 am to 12:45 pm.
The event aimed to encourage girls and women to use ICT and build up their career in ICT field. ICT is a fast growing sector and vital in the development of the nation. With more advancement in this sector more opportunities are being created every day. And it's not long before ICT will be a leading sector and strong force behind the economic system of the country. The event mainly intended to promote and encourage girls and young women to actively participate in the fields of ICT and benefit from it and contribute to it as well.
The event was attended by 24 girls of class 9th and 10th. Few successful women among them made presentation on ICT and Women and how ICT can empower girls and women and motivated the students to use ICT and build up their career in the same field.
To promote this event Ms. Kamal Peter, Senior Programmer of Oracle Academy taught the girls how to make a game in Alice software. Girls enjoyed by making a game of disappearing fishes by clicking on it and count the time taken by user to make them disappear.
Finally, the program was concluded with the motive to empower and encourage girls and women to use ICT and build up career in ICT field and organizing the day every year with more and more no. of female participants.
