Workshop on Spectrum Management and Harmonized use of Spectrum Resource

International Telecommunication Union (ITU) organized “Workshop on​ Spectrum Management and Harmonized use of Spectrum Resource” which hold from on 28th to 30th of November 2017 in Nadi, Fiji.

The workshop organized by with support from Ministry of Justice and Communications – Fiji, Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) and Pacific ICT Regulatory Resource Center (PIRRC) and in partnership with Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP) – Republic of Korea.

Objective of this workshop is to :

  • Highlight the importance of Spectrum management for ICT development
  • Emphasize the need to adopt harmonized solutions to issues related to technological advancement
  • Spectrum availability for future IMT systems.

The workshop targeted towards the capacity building of senior officials from Policy making organizations, Regulators, Industry, National Spectrum Managing organizations, and academia involved in developing policies, regulations, operations, strategies and other associated development activities related to Spectrum Management within the Pacific Region.

Notes:

  1. The conference would be immediately followed by a training program on APT Frequency Information System (AFIS) organized by APT on 1st of December 2017.
  2. Targeted fellowships are available for participants from eligible countries. Application for fellowships can be made using the relevant forms availabkle in the Event document section Interested candidates are request to note the following:
    • Fellowship requests from  eligible personnel form (Niue, Tonga, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, FSM and Tuvalu​) should be made directly to event focal point from APT.
    • Fellowship requests from  eligible personnel form (Marshall Islands, Kiribati, PNG, Samoa, Solomon-Islands and other ITU member states from Pacific) should be made to event focal point from ITU and PIRRC.​
