Asia-Pacific Regional Workshop on ICT Statistics 2017

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) in particular organized Asia-Pacific Regional Workshop on “ICT Statistics” hold in Xi'an, China, from 22 to 25 August 2017.

The objective of the workshop to strengthen the capacity of countries to produce national statistics on telecommunications and ICTs. The worksho intended for participants who were responsible for collecting and/or producing such statistics in ministries, regulatory agencies and national statistical offices. The workshop included discussions of the methodology of ICT indicators and the experiences by countries in the collection, analysis and presentation of ICT data. Moreover, the workshop raised awareness of the relevance of the indicators for evidence-based policy formulation and in assessing the implementation of particular policy initiatives.
