Final report of the 23rd TDAG meeting, 2018
The 23rd meeting of the Telecommunication Development Advisory Group (TDAG) took place from 9 to 11 April 2018 at ITU headquarters in Geneva.
TDAG’s mandate ranges from reviewing priorities, strategies, operations and financial matters of the Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) to advising the Director of the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) on the implementation of Action Plans from world telecommunication development conferences (WTDCs).
The 23rd meeting of TDAG had a broad agenda as it marked the first TDAG meeting after the
World Telecommunication Development Conference 2017 (WTDC-17), convened in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 9 to 20 October 2017. In particular, this meeting discussed the following topics:
- Outcomes of WTDC-17 and their implications on the work of ITU-D, including TDAG's scope of work, collaboration with the other Sectors and financial implications of the regional initiatives approved by WTDC-17
- Implementation of the ITU-D Strategic Plan and Operational Plan 2017 and ITU-D four-year rolling Operational Plan 2019-2022
- ITU-D contribution to the implementation of the WSIS outcomes and 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
