GICG Admission and badges
- CICG access on 17 May 2006:
All Regional Radiocommunication Conference
(RRC-06) badges, all ITU badges, all Action Line Facilitation (ALF) badges,
all categories of UN Office at Geneva (UNOG) badges, and other international
organizations badges (e.g. WIPO, ILO, WHO, UN Funds and Programmes etc.)
will be accepted.
- Access to the WISD ceremony at CICG:
People who have badges that are not a photo badges (e.g. ALF badges) must show a valid piece of photo
ID.
- WISD Ceremony participants who are not covered under No.1 and 2
above:
A courtesy badge will be issued, at the RRC-06 registration desk in
the CICG, upon showing a valid piece of photo ID.
- Journalists:
Journalists accredited at the United Nations Office in Geneva must
present their UNOG press badge. Any other journalists must apply for a badge
by calling +41 22 730 6303 or
by email. To speed up the
process, you are requested to submit a letter of assignment signed by the
Editor-in-Chief (or the News Editor for radio/TV); or, for freelancers, a
letter from the Editor-in-Chief recognizing that the journalist in question
is a contributor of a recognized, bona fide media organization and one of
the following:
- A photocopy of a recognized national/international press card valid
at least to the end of 2006;
- A copy of an internationally-recognized proof of identity with photo
(passport or national ID card)
Press badges will also be issued from the RRC-06 registration desk in the
CICG from 08:30. In order to
avoid delays, it is strongly recommended to apply in advance.
Note: For access into the CICG participants will be subject to security
checks similar to those at an airport: X-ray and walk-through metal detector
equipment.
