To capture the opportunities of the burgeoning Digital Economy, Singapore’s National Digital Identity (NDI) initiative aims to provide growing opportunities for digitalization and value creation to the everyday lives of residents and businesses by enabling end to end digital transactions. This is done through: 1. eliminating the need for multiple online identities and passwords. 2. empowers users with greater and more convenient access to their own data, allowing personal and corporate data to only be shared upon explicit consent. 3. Enable trust services through digital signing, remote authorisation of transactions and digital credentials stored in a digital wallet.Through NDI’s Digital Identity for a nation, a digital identity is issued to all individuals. Singaporean residents can perform digital end to end transactions with the government and private sector. Singapore’s National Digital Identity has worked with more than 700 public and private sector organizations to enable 4.5 million users (which consists of 97% Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents aged 15 and above) to access more than 2000 digital services, making it one of the most pervasively adopted national digital identity systems in the world.

Digital Identity are now adopted by over 97% of Singapore citizens in their daily life - from making transactions with the government, to application of credit card and login to digital services. In order to ensure that we are providing values, we have adopted the Agile Methologies - focusing on quality by creating products that meet consumers' needs and expectations, and responding quickly and responsively to the ever changing environment. As NDI moves forward, maintaining relevance to users and business needs will continue to be a main feature of the NDI development culture. Because we have listened to the user and business needs, NDI has evolved from just a login tool for government services to a pervasive end to end single access trust ecosystem.
Digital Identity for a Nation - as the project title suggest, it is a project for the Nation, meaning no one is left behind. Everyone - from citizens to permanent residents can transact with the government, and private sectors onboarded to NDI digitally, using their own digital identity.
