Thailand Telecommunication Relay Service (TTRS) was established in October 2011 and has been in operation since January 2012 to date. The main objective is to provide communication relay service for people with hearing impairment and speech impaired, including elderly with hearing problems in order to communicate with people through the basic telecommunications of the country. All users can receive total communication services with multi-mode communication including voice, text, and video. TTRS is operated by Universal Foundation for Persons with Disabilities, in cooperation with National Electronics and Computer Technology for technical assistance, and National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) for project sponsor,

1) Promote Information Society for All to ensure that everyone can benefit from the opportunities that ICTs can offer by building a people-centred Information Society for people with hearing impairment and speech impaired, including elderly with hearing problems. 2) Develop technologies, applications, and service infrastructures which are essential foundations for an inclusive information society and recognize the special needs of persons with disabilities and older persons. The infrastructure networks are also adapted to national and local conditions, easily-accessible and affordable, and making greater use of broadband and other innovative technologies where possible in order to accelerate the social and economic progress of countries, and the well-being of all individuals, communities and peoples. 3) Joint effort which requires cooperation and partnership among all stakeholders such as government sectors, civil societies, and private sectors.
