The East African Common Digital MarketPlace is a Single window access to all East African e-commerce services and a supply chain connected to this is the only solution to remedy this situation. A Common Digital Marketplace will allow businesses to expand their business potential thus increasing their cross-border sales, which shall contribute to the sustainable development and stability of the entire region. This initiative is consisting of building a single entry for the e-commerce platforms operating in East African Community. It aims to interconnect East Africa e-commerce platforms, payment systems, logistic chain associated to e-commerce and regulators. The purpose of this project is to bring together all regional e-commerce services providers, government policy makers and regulators to discuss the practicalities of the East African Common Digital Marketplace initiative in order to get them engaged and involved.

This project will contribute significantly to the promotion of ICT tools in the less connected areas. The Internet penetration rate and the use of web and mobile applications shall increase by at least 50% a year.
