The WSIS Forum 2023 virtual sessions have been very exciting so far, with active contributions from WSIS stakeholders. We would like to remind you that there are still more sessions to come in the next three weeks, covering a wide range of topics related to ICTs and sustainable development.
In particular, we would like to invite you to join the upcoming special tracks sessions that are relevant and timely for today’s world: ICTs and Older Persons, ICTs and Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities and Specific Needs, and ICTs for Emerging Technologies and Industry 4.0. These sessions will highlight the immense potential of ICTs in supporting the inclusion of older persons, promoting accessibility for people with disabilities, and driving innovation and digital transformation in various industries.

Can these new LEO systems help connect the unconnected and create the sustainable, resilient communications infrastructure envisioned in SDG Goal 9? This workshop will explore both the challenges and opportunities with these systems and how they can help advance access to ICTs and the SDGs in general. |

As the UN specialized agency for ICTs, ITU works to achieve to the overarching goal of digital inclusion of everyone regardless of gender, age or ability to use the technology by promoting ICT accessibility as a key enabler towards achieving a digitally inclusive world and ensure that no one is left behind. This session aims to present a comprehensive review of ITU's efforts to promote and achieve accessibility. It describes the work of the three sectors and the General Secretariat on this field. |
