The project aims to strengthening the enabling environment for inclusive digital transformation through institutional capacity development for policy and regulatory stakeholders, digital skills training and targeted actions to foster a vibrant digital innovation ecosystem in Mozambique. The project ‘Laying the foundation for VaMoz Digital!’ is a component of the joint EC-ITU-AICS “VaMoz Digital!” project which aims to contribute to Mozambique’s inclusive growth focused on digital transformation. Throughout this, the enhancement of digital skills and the strengthening of the Mozambican digital ecosystem are key. Fundamental to ensuring progress towards achieving those results is a review of the policy and regulatory frameworks, their strengthening as required, and facilitating access to affordable and accessible digital infrastructure. This project contributes to the implementation of the EU Digital Agenda (COM(2020) 67 Final) and the African Union’s Digital Transformation Strategy for Africa in general.

Achievements |
Project 9MOZ23005 aims to contribute to the implementation of specific actions to harness human centric digital transformation for sustainable development and inclusive growth in Mozambique. The specific aims of the activities are: - Strengthening and improvement of the digital enabling environment for accelerated digital transformation across all sectors; - Strengthening and improvement of policy and regulatory frameworks, as well as institutional capacity of the government bodies responsible for digital transformation and other relevant stakeholders; - Share implementation findings, provide the EU Delegation with insights, coordinate with national policy and decision makers, investors, development banks and development partners, among others, for informed interventions to ensure that digital transformation initiatives are inclusive for all, including marginalized communities and persons with disabilities and specific needs; - Develop capacities on a digital innovation ecosystem approach and strengthen digital innovation ecosystems for priority sectors.
