Description of the event

ROBOCAT, the Catalan Robotics Championship, is a leading non-profit educational competition to promote learning robotics and coding, regardless of gender, socio-economic background or academic ability. Students design, build and program affordable robots to solve some of the humanity’s biggest challenges to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).In 2022, ROBOCAT is hosting three regional tournaments (Mataró -April 29-, Barcelona -May 7-, Girona -May 8-) and a Grand Finale (Girona -May 16-). More than 500 students from 84 teams will participate in the events, including 200 girls.ROBOCAT Girls is a scholarship program that promotes universal, non-discriminatory, equitable and affordable access of girls to robotics. Fostering better and more inclusive access to robotics is crucial not only to bridge the digital divide but also in helping to close the gender gap. Ten teams of girls are taking part in the initiative in 2022.
