Girls in ICT Day -Liberia 2022West Africa ICT Action Network will work with the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Liberia and other local partners in the last day a month filled with activities under the Girls in STEM ( LIBERIA) initiative, with the aim to raise awareness, to train, to learn and to promote young women’ professional development in the communications and information technology sector (ICT).28 April, International Girls in ICT Day, established by ITU and celebrated in over 150 countries around the world, celebrates girls and young women and encourages them to pursue studies and careers in the technology sector through training of coding, development of mobile applications and IT. As a global celebration and West Africa ICT Action Network , as lead local host in Liberia . The day will be used to highlight the significance of Girls in ICT and building a career . International Girls in ICT Day,as established by ITU . It well known and celebrated in over 150 countries around the world including Liberia , In Liberia the day will be used to celebrates girls and young women and encourages them to pursue studies and careers in the technology sector through training of coding, development of mobile applications and IT.

West Africa ICT Action Network -The West Africa ICT Action Network is a multi-stakeholder platform for people and institutions interested and involved in Internet Governance, ICT Action and regulation.Is a network of civil society, academia and ICT think tank. The network aims to act as a facilitator in reforms in the ICT sector in West Africa leading to a sub-regional, national ICT advancement and development. We intend to work as a network working to enable everyone, everywhere to access the life-changing power of the Internet. This will ensure academic engagement and discussion on the state of the Internet, internet policies and regulatory efforts in West Africa.WAICTAnet undertakes policy research on Accessibility and Inclusion, Access to Knowledge, Internet Governance and Telecom, and academic research on Digital Natives and Digital Humanities in West Africa.
