eMobilis Mobile Technology Institute launched an initiative called MobiGirlz whose aim is to train, empower and mentor young women who are underprivileged and passionate about Technology through Scholarships and Boot camps. To mark International Girls in ICT Day on 23rd April, MobiGirlz has organised an online event and invited remarkable women in the Tech Space for a panel discussion. The Invited Speakers are: - Eunice Allela – Development Community Systems Manager at Google
- Ruth Kaveke – Co-Founder and Executive Director at Pwani Teknowgalz
- Tabitha Kavyu – Developer Students Club Lead, University of Nairobi.
- Beth Wangari –Change Management Engineer, Safaricom
- Joy Bii – IT Solutions Architect, Safaricom
The moderators of the day will be Clare Karani and Edith Njeri. Social media engagement will be spearheaded by Lucy Karanja and Fraciah Kamau.
The speakers will be sharing on:
a) What inspired them to start their journey in Tech b) What challenges they face as women in Tech c) How they get involved and spearhead Tech events in their various organisations,schools etc d) How to get more women interested in Tech
