The theme of our campaign is "Girls in STEAM - Girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics", with specialreference to women in engineering. The students prepared presentations on Ada Byron, Jelisaveta Načic, women in architecture, mechanical engineering, telecommunications, aviation and more. The event on the Teams platform wasfollowed by the second and the third grade students, computer engineers. The event itself and its significance were discussed by Milijana Petrovic, event promoter and mentor to the students. She presented the project "Databaseof 1500 Professional Women of Serbia", which can be accessed at: http://www.zenskavlada.org.rs/. The project was created as part of theactivities of the Women's Government and Equal Opportunities Association, withthe aim of demonstrating that there is an impressive base of professional knowledge, managerial capacity and high cultural standards among the females ofthe Serbian population. Students were particularly interested in the percentage ofgirls participating in technical colleges in our country and in the world, according to data from the site https://swe.org/, as well as the eternalstruggle of women engineers who must constantly prove themselves in order togain the same level of recognition and appreciation as male colleagues. This isalso indicated by the fact that only 30% of women who have graduated withengineering degree continue to pursue these jobs. The results of the researchwere discussed the way how the upcoming technological changes will affect therepresentation of women in the respective professions, the claims that women inengineering are often more capable of solving challenges than their malecounterparts, etc.
