Ms. Philomena Gnanapragasam is the CEO and Secretariat-Director of the Asia Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) formed under the auspices of UNESCO. She holds a double degree in Psychology and Political Science and is two-time recipient of Malaysia’s Prime Ministers loyalty award. She has 15 international awards for radio and television programmes including the prestigious Golden Globe Award for her work in radio and television. Philomena sits on the board of several Malaysian universities as advisor for the media curriculum. She is currently reinvigorating AIBDs mandate as an inter-governmental body focusing on media policies and pressing issues in the region. Her most recent accomplishment is the Health Communication Manual for Journalists.
