The Opportunity

The World Summit on the Information Society, in its continuing process, provides a unique opportunity for all key stakeholders to participate in developing a better understanding of the digital revolution and its impact on the international community. 

WSIS brings together Heads of state and government, Executive Heads of United Nations agencies, industry leaders, non-governmental organizations, media representatives and civil society at the highest level in a truly multi-stakeholder engagement. The role of the various partners around the globe in ensuring the smooth coordination and practical establishment of the Information Society is at the heart of the Summit process.
