WSIS stakeholders (governments, international organizations, civil society entities and business sector entities) wishing to do so were provided an opportunity to organize events in conjunction with the Summit. Most of these events took place from December 8th to 12th, 2003, and consisted of meetings, discussions and workshops. The organizers of each event were responsible for the content and the funding of their event.

The government of Switzerland provided conference rooms and facilities for this purpose at Geneva Palexpo and was responsible for the overall logistical coordination of these events.
