ITU World Telecommunication Development Conference set to meet in Dubai, UAE, 30
March – 10 April 2014
Focus on Broadband for Sustainable Development
Geneva, 27 January 2014 – The
ITU World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-14) will meet in Dubai,
United Arab Emirates, 30 March – 10 April 2014.
Highlighting the overarching theme, Broadband for Sustainable Development,
WTDC-14 will focus on development priorities in telecommunications and
information and communication technologies (ICT) and agree on the programmes,
projects and initiatives to implement them. The outcome of WTDC-14, the Dubai
Action Plan, is expected to set the agenda for telecommunication and ICT
development over the next four years.
WTDC-14 will assess progress in implementing the Hyderabad Action Plan set in
motion in 2010 along with other key areas of activity such as the World Summit
on the Information Society, the series of Connect the World Summits held since
2007, and strengthening ITU’s regional presence.

WTDC-14 TV Studio
|
ITU will conduct TV interviews with key
personalities at WTDC-14 and will also produce
TV News Reports. The broadcast quality videos
will be available to networks for transmission
free of charge. Videos can be viewed on ITU’s
YouTube channel.
