Summary - G.8275.2/Y.1369.2 (2022) Amd. 2 (08/2024) -
Recommendation ITU-T G.8275.2/Y.1369.2 specifies a profile for telecommunication applications based on IEEE 1588 precision time protocol (PTP). The profile specifies the IEEE 1588 functions that are necessary to ensure network element interoperability for the delivery of accurate phase/time (and frequency) synchronization. The profile is based on the use of partial timing support (PTS) or assisted partial timing support (APTS) from the network architecture as described in ITU-T G.8275 and definitions described in ITUTG.8260. Amendment 2 provides the following updates: Added text to clause 6.3.2 on the use of twoStepFlag in [IEEE 1588-2008] vs. [IEEE15882019] based implementations. Added clause 6.7.12 on "wait-to-restore time" and portDS.wtrState. Added "portDS.twoStepFlag" to Table A.5. Replaced the word "synchronizing" with "locked" in Annex F. Replaced "timeTransmitter" with "Telecom-Grandmaster" in Appendix V. "Data set comparison algorithm" with references to [IEEE 1588] on defaultDS.timeReceiverOnly, portDS.timeTransmitterOnly, and portDS.notTimeTransmitter. Added a note to "Table 3 Applicable clockClass values" on T-BC-A holdover Added performance monitoring Annex F of [ITU-T G.8275] as an optional feature of this profile Clarified defaultDS.deviceType with a note added to Table A.1 Revised terminology based on inclusive language Added clause 6.10 on "Dataset member for PTP clockMode". Added clause 6.11 on "Dataset member for PTP nodeClass". Added new data set members and deleted not used data set members in Annex A.2.
